Rick Dacey

Rick Dacey is an actor, improvisor, and teacher with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Trained at the prestigious Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, Rick's journey as an actor began to flourish with a love for classical theater. He further honed his skills at the Atlantic Acting School in NYC, mastering a myriad of contemporary techniques, and explored various advanced methodologies in Gregory Berger-Sobeck's master acting classes in Los Angeles.

 

Rick's expertise in improvisation adds a dynamic element to his instruction, drawing from his training at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theaters in NYC and LA. Emphasizing spontaneity and collaboration, he empowers students to infuse authenticity into their performances, creating truly memorable moments on stage and screen.

 

Recognizing a gap in his training, Rick dedicated time to enhance his on-camera technical skills. Guided by esteemed instructors Killian McHugh and Bob Krakower, he gained valuable insights into the nuances of on-camera techniques. He incorporates this knowledge into his teaching, equipping students with practical tools to excel when working on camera.

 

With an intimate understanding of the highs and lows that accompany a career in the industry, Rick offers fellow actors truthful insights and guidance. His teaching philosophy revolves around empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges his students face accompanied by a true passion for learning and sharing the craft of acting. 

 

Drawing from his own personal journey, Rick provides a supportive and relatable approach, addressing both the artistic and practical aspects of the craft while ensuring a fun, safe and exciting learning environment.
